Actors Should always try to face the audience.
Stage Directions are from the Actors Point of View.
Stage Directions only refer to the main acting Area. (center of staging area)
Even if you turn your back to the audience - Right and left stay the same.
Try never to stand in straight lines or half circles! Go for the Clump or Triangle.
Things to Remember
In
: Towards the center line of the Staging Area.
Out
: Away from the center line of the Staging Area.
Upstaging
: Making the other person on stage have to turn their back to the audience so that they can interact with You.
Cross & Counter
: A move by one actor to balence the move of another actor.
